The City of Athens celebrates the birthday of Maria Callas with reduced general admission to the Maria Callas Museum and a grand party honoring the ultimate soprano. Additionally, it hosts unique Christmas activities with free entry for all ages: an original Christmas listening club, a jazz concert accompanied by hot chocolate, free guided tours for those over 65, nighttime adventures, and tales of mischievous goblins.
With the theme “Dreamy Dreams,” the Christmas World of the SNFCC takes on a magical dimension. As every year, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) brings moments of Christmas magic to all, sharing the joy, warmth, and hope of the holiday season in a space that has become the most beloved festive destination in the capital for millions of visitors.
The Ice Rink on the Canal, the Festival of Light Installations in the Stavros Niarchos Park, the Dancing Fountains, towering decorated Christmas trees in the Agora, 80 illuminated plane trees lining the Canal, the dazzling lighting ceremony on December 1, and the always spectacular New Year’s Eve event all come together to create an imaginative Christmas wonderland.
International superstar Jason Derulo will be performing in Thessaloniki (November 15, PAOK Sports Arena) and Athens (November 16, OAKA Indoor Basketball Arena) this November as part of his current Nu King World Tour.
Oxygen by Ivan Vyrypaev, a manifesto play from the 2000s, is presented as an antidote to the “psychopolitical suffocation” of Generation Z, directed by talented new-generation director Giorgos Koutli. A youthful cast of 25, representing this generation, breathes life into a spiritual rave experience that reinterprets the play for today—a reflection on an entire generation. From November 21 to January 12, the Central Stage of the Onassis Stegi transforms into an “arena” with DJs Reign of Time at the decks and live video art.
The performance, with text and direction by Tiago Rodrigues and featuring Nikos Karathanos and Marissa Triantafyllidou, offers us just under an hour of precious, distilled poetry—a tender, scenic song about love and time.
